BEAR PARTY 2006

On Saturday Afternoon August 26th people of all ages came out and spent a fun filled afternoon helping support Karen Kadaja's "One Bear Project" in healing hearts one bear at a time by heading out to the "The Saddle Rack" in Fremont, California and attending "Bear Party 2006!". The special four hour event which ran from 11:00am to 3:00pm was a benefit to collect new or high quality teddy's and other stuffed animals to help out the "Tri City Homeless Coalition." in bringing some happiness and smiles to some deserving kids in need.



Everybody enjoyed interacting with the super lineup of entertainment that featured "Mr. Hopping Mad!" Henry Costa who had not only grown ups and little kiddies dancing in the streets but also the projects mascot "One Bear" and his good buddy "McGruff the Crimedog" who both joined all in doing the "West Coast Strut" with Henry. People were also taken on a good ole fashioned funny trip back in time to the days of wild frontier with the "Gunfighters of the Old West." and were dazzled by the up close Intimate Magic of Renowned Magician "Rick Rios." In addition all the Little Folks attending were kept quite busy with some yummy Cotton Candy and some Miniature Golf fun courtesy of Livermore's "Boomer's Amusement Park" and Redwood City's "Malibu Grand Prix & Castle" Meanwhile the "San Jose Sabercats" handed out team photos to all who visited their Inflatable Football Toss Booth. Throughout the days festivities Master of Ceremony "Susan Harlow" and the Saddle Rack's very own "D. J. Mark" made sure things ran smooth and that everybody had a good time.



As a special surprise to all those who donated stuffed animals Free Food was given out courtesy of "Outback Steakhouse" who provided Juicy Hamburgers, "Pizza Patio" who handed out Delicious Pizza and "Dreyer's" who cooled everybody off with some Ice Cream Delights. In addition there were also Free Gifts and Hand's on How to Fun with "Kiowa Rose Beads" and Home Improvement Center "Lowes." Fremont's Finest were also well represented with The "Fremont Police" appearing with their Mobile Adoption Pet Vehicle, The "Fremont Firefighter's" who sent their biggest Fire Engine, "Fremont's CERT Unit" who provided valuble emergency information and the "Fremont Library" who handed out Free Goodies. In addition "Newark's Police" Provided Free Fingerprinting Services and There was a Stuffed Animal Silent Auction in which the featured prize was tickets to see Journey/Def Leppard In Concert which were given to the person bringing in the most bears courtesy of Radio's "98.5 KFOX." All this and so much more made for a special day enjoyed by all those helping in this great cause the One Bear Way.
