SOUTHERN CAL II - LEONTINE COURT SESSIONS TOUR 2001

Henry premiered some of his "Leontine Court Sessions" dances in Southern California during "Southern Cal II - Leontine Court Sessions Tour 2001". The tour was between July 13-28th which consists of 7 cities in 13 days. Southern California dancers came to the cities of Tujunga, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Diego, Baldwin Park, San Dimas, and Altadena to learn these dances. Henry stated, "These are the first dances choreographed since my Crystal Boot Nomination for Dance of the Year Cowgirl Mansion that was released last year in June which, was taught in Baldwin Park and Altadena. Henry also taught his classic dance Travel To The Beat in Pasadena and Altadena. These dances were choreographed between the dates of October 25,2000 & March 25,2001. A series of dances which reflect the happenings of my life at a place called "Leontine Court". "Leontine Court" is a very special place"! The dances where, The exciting, new, and different Pure Passion, The fun and cute First Time and the nice and smooth moving cha cha Leontine Court.The tour started with a surprise visit to Gene Morrill's Friday Night Dance on July 13th where Henry talked about the premiere's of two of his new dances on Sunday in Tujunga. "Pure Passion" and "Leontine Court" premiered sunday at Gene Morrill's Breakfast Dance located at the Elks lodge in Tunjuga, CA. Dancer's learned Henry's "Leontine Court" cherographed to Lee Ann Womack's Ashes By Now and "Pure Passion" cherographed to David Hirschifelder & The Bogo Pogo Orchestra's "Scott and Fran's Paso Doble" from the movie "Strictly Ballroom". First Henry taught "Leontine Court" which the dancers loved because, it was simple and smooth moving. Next came the instant hit "Pure Passion"."Pure Passion" was loved from the first look at the demo done by Henry before the lesson, to when the dancers danced it for the first time.

The dancer's loved "Pure Passion" because of its new and different steps influenced by the spanish dances "Paso Doble" and "Flamenco" and the music that went with it. They said,"It was nice to have something new and different to dance to!, That's what makes it fun to learn and dance!" They loved it so much they wanted a another lesson the next day! So, Henry added to his lesson plan! On Monday Henry traveled to Monrovia to premiere one more dance, "First Time". "First Time" choreographed to Janet Jackson's All For You (Video Mix) also got a big reaction from the dancer's of Southern California! Dancer's said, "It was fun and cute and above that, it's only a one wall dance which it made it easy to learn!" Henry also taught "Leontine Court" and his new hit dance, "Pure Passion".

Henry taught his dances at the Monrovia Community Center on July 16th, 20th, and the 27th. Henry next went to Vivian Robles class at the Jackie Robinson Community Center in Pasadena, CA. Henry taught three dances on the 18th, "Leontine Court", "First Time" and "Travel To The Beat". Which all the dancers loved! Henry also demo "Pure Passion" which the dancers got excited about and asked to learn it. So, Henry returned to Pasadena the next class on the 25th to teach it.

Next Henry traveled to San Diego where, he first visited and danced at Incahoots then, taught at Jeannie Woolman's class at Anchors & Spurs located on the San Diego Navy Base. Shirley King was there to cover for Jeannie who couldn't be there. Henry Taught "First Time" which the dancer's loved. They danced it three times that night and Shirley said, "That she liked it! so, she would teach it to both of her classes the next day". Henry stayed late and had fun dancing with Jeannie's dance class the whole night. Henry the next day returned to Pasadena to Vivian's class and Baldwin Park to teach at Liz Montes class at the Esther Snyder Community. Henry taught "Leontine Court" and "First Time". Then he returned on the 27th and taught "Pure Passion" and "Cowgirl Mansion". Henry's dances where well received in Baldwin Park and Pasadena. Henry ended his tour in Altadena,CA. at the Altadena Senior Center. Henry taught at Joe & Joyce McDivitt's saturday morning class which he taught "Leontine Court", "Travel To The Beat", and "Pure Passion" and at their Pot Luck Saturday night dance, Henry taught "Cowgirl Mansion". Henry would like to thank the following instructors who had him as their guest instructor during his tour: Gene Morrill, Vivian Robles, Jeannie Woolman, Shirley King, Liz Montes, and Joe & Joyce McDevitt. But, the most important is to all the dancers of Southern California for making this tour a success! Henry would like to say,"Because all of you, the dances and the tour was successfull. I had a wonderful time in Southern California! Thank you for all of your support!"
